North India’s one of the most popular dish Tandoori chicken. ‘Tandoor’ is the earthen oven, where the chicken is directly roasted over coals. However, if you are thinking of cooking Tandoori Chicken at home it’s probably not possible right? Wrong, now, with the tips from my friends at The Whisking Kitchen, you can prepare it at home in microwave oven and the only thing with almost same taste as of the one which is roasted over the tandoor.
Preparing Tandoori Chicken in Microwave is the best way to enhance flavor and provide complete nutritious meal as cook on stove. Once cooked in microwave it provides a hunger pang and makes unable to resist.
- 3 Pounds Chicken preferably thighs with bone.
- Salt (as per your taste)
- Yogurt – 100 grams
- Ginger & Garlic Paste – 2 tbs
- Lemon Juice – 2 tbs
- Oil – 2tbs
- Red Chilli – 1tbs
- Tandoori Masala – 2tbs
- Garam Masala – 1 tbs
- Coriander Seeds & Cumin – 1 tbs
Cooking Instructions for Tandoori Chicken:
Marinade all the ingredients to be applied over the chicken. Flatten the yogurt by beating it; mix all the powdered spices to it.
Prepare a paste by adding a bit of water to cumin seeds and coriander and grinding them into a blender.
Take the salt as per your taste and add it to the lemon juice with a half tablespoon of oil, the paste of ginger & garlic, the prepared paste of cumin seeds and coriander and add them to the marinade.
Make an incision on the back side of the thighs along the bone.
Coat the chicken with the marinated paste and leave it at least for about 3 to 4 hours in the fridge.
Cook on high (1200w) for 14 to 16 minutes. Place the chicken on baking sheet and bake on upper rack in preheated 450F for about 10 to 15 minutes.
Serve with lettuce and green chili pepper sliced.
